1.Clean Cooking Stoves
Healthy Food & Feed Co., Ltd (H.F.C)
has launched a Renewable Energy project centered on providing clean energy solutions based on solar and pellets sources.
This initiative aims to reduce reliance on traditional biomass (wood and charcoal), thereby mitigating indoor air
pollution and contributing to improved public health. The pellets used in the stoves are sourced sustainably from a
pellet plant established in Kigali-City.
Beyond clean cooking, the remaining pellets serve a dual purpose: “they are repurposed for soil amendment,
enriching soil fertility, and enhancing agricultural productivity”.
Additionally, the project contributes to other solar energy innovations, thus aiding in climate change mitigation.
This integrated approach combines energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and agricultural benefits,
aligning with global goals for clean energy and sustainable development.
